* Adults Learn to Swim?

The Inland NW LMSC board will be discussing the potential of developing and funding an Adult Learn To Swim (ALTS) out-reach program in our region as part of a larger goal of giving back/providing a service to our communities. USMS will be conducting ALTS Instructor Certification in Seattle on 16 May costing $300.00 per student.

We are soliciting names of those with interest in obtaining certification and volunteering time to provide lessons in our region. Those interested should obtain a letter of recommendation from their club representative or a LMSC board member and forward to iwchair@usms.org by 10 March. The letter should outline the qualifications of the prospective volunteer. Training is expensive so the LMSC will be looking for individuals with sincere desire to help others and make most of the LMSC investment.

The intent is for Inland NW board to consider the program's goals, funding and trainers concurrently in order to provide enough time to enroll instructors from our area before the class is full. Having a list of candidates to discuss will shorten the process.

Please direct questions to your club representative or myself at iwchair@usms.org .
