United States Masters Swimming (USMS) is a national organization that provides organized workouts, competitions, clinics and workshops for adults aged 18 and over. USMS is open to all adult swimmers (fitness, triathlete, competitive and non-competitive) who want to improve their fitness through swimming and their swimming technique.
Activities Include:
- Structured training workouts, often with a coach, at more than 500 designated local facilities throughout the country
- Opportunities to compete (pool and open-water) and measure individual progress at the local, state, national and international levels
- Stroke and technique clinics, workshops, and instruction
- Social functions

Organizational Structure
- Inland Northwest Masters Swimming is one of 53 local masters swimming committees (LMSC) located throughout the United States.
- Groups of LMSCs make up zones. Inland Northwest Masters is part of the Northwest Zone.
- In addition, Inland Northwest Masters is one of the more than 500 clubs nationwide. These clubs serve as the basis for national competitions.
- Inland Northwest Masters is comprised of a number of smaller workout groups called teams. These teams are the basis for competition within the Inland Northwest Masters Club.
- National membership is more than 42,000, with individual members ranging in age from 18 to over 100.
- Inland Northwest Masters membership is approximately 200-250.
